Thundersnow video - TWC's Jim Cantore in Chicago, 2/1/11

I've been asked several times about the existance of thundersnow. Yes it does exist and here is proof.  Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel was in Chicago on Tuesday evening doing live cut-ins and got caught off-guard by not one, but TWO loud claps of thunder.  Thunder in a snowstorm is inidicative of very heavy snowfall rates as the convective process can dump large amounts of snow (just as with rain in warmer weather) in short periods of time. Enjoy!
